Microsoft unveiled the Xbox Game Pass August lineup on August 5, 2025, with eight exciting titles arriving across console, PC, and cloud platforms. Leading the charge is Assassin’s Creed Mirage, launching on August 7 for PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate users. The Ubisoft game returns the franchise to its stealth-action roots, following Basim, a street thief-turned-Master Assassin, navigating the rich setting of 9th-century Baghdad.
Unlike recent open-world entries, Mirage focuses on tight storytelling and stealth-driven gameplay. Its refined design appeals to both longtime fans and newcomers looking for a more compact experience.
A Diverse Set of Games for Every Gamer
The lineup began with Rain World, a survival platformer starring a vulnerable slugcat, available across all tiers since August 5. The action picks up on August 6 when Game Pass Standard subscribers gain access to four more titles. These include Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, a deep sci-fi RPG, and Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, a downhill multiplayer racing game. Additionally, MechWarrior 5: Clans delivers adrenaline-pumping mech combat, while Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap adds strategic trap-defense mayhem.
The excitement continues on August 12 with the return of Aliens: Fireteam Elite, a fan-favorite co-op shooter tied to the Alien: Earth series premiere. Then on August 14, PC players can explore the roguelike strategy of 9 Kings, which arrives in Game Preview mode.

Game Pass Ultimate users enjoy extra benefits this month. Starting August 7, they can access a 10-hour trial of EA Sports Madden NFL 26. Additionally, cosmetic perks like the Smite 2 Poseidon skin and Naraka: Bladepoint’s Phoenix Princess Bundle are up for grabs.
