UAE Denies Special ₹23 Lakh Golden Visa Scheme for Indians

A wave of confusion swept through social media and news portals this week after reports claimed that the UAE had launched a ₹23 lakh (approx. AED 100,000) special Golden Visa programme exclusively for Indians. However, the UAE government has officially denied the existence of any such tailored or fixed-price visa policy.

The clarification comes as several agencies and online advertisements began circulating misleading information about an alleged “lifetime Golden Visa” package targeting Indian nationals.

What Was the Claim?

Some third-party consultancies and unverified sources had claimed that Indians can now directly apply for a Golden Visa by paying ₹23 lakh for permanent residency in the UAE, with perks including long-term business rights, property ownership, and access to premium healthcare.

The offer gained traction due to its “lifetime visa” narrative — which appeared highly attractive to high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurs from India. However, these claims have now been flagged as misleading by official UAE authorities.

UAE Government’s Response

According to reports published by leading business outlets like The Economic Times and Times of India, UAE authorities have categorically stated that no such fixed-cost Golden Visa package exists, and the eligibility continues to be based on existing criteria — not nationality or direct payments.

A UAE government spokesperson clarified: “There is no programme offering a ‘lifetime Golden Visa’ for ₹23 lakh or any fixed fee for a specific nationality. All applications must meet the current official criteria.”

How Does the Real Golden Visa Work?

The UAE Golden Visa, introduced in 2019, is a long-term residence visa (5 or 10 years) granted to:

  • Investors in real estate (property valued at AED 2 million or more)

  • Entrepreneurs and startup founders

  • Highly skilled professionals and researchers

  • Outstanding students and graduates

  • People with exceptional talents in arts, sports, or science

The application process involves demonstrating eligibility through documentation and approval from relevant UAE authorities — not simply paying a fee.

Public Reaction and Advisory

Many Indians who were considering migration to Dubai and Abu Dhabi were confused by the reports. UAE-based legal experts and immigration consultants are now urging the public to verify all claims through official government portals or licensed agents.

The misleading campaign has raised concerns about the mushrooming of unauthorized visa agents leveraging misinformation to lure clients.
