Toyota Taisor Gets Uniform ₹2,500 Price Hike

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has revised the prices of its subcompact SUV, the Urban Cruiser Taisor. The company has implemented a uniform hike of ₹2,500 across all its petrol and CNG variants, effective immediately. This is the second price revision since the vehicle’s launch earlier this year.

The base variant, which earlier started at ₹7.74 lakh (ex-showroom), now begins at ₹7.77 lakh. The top-end variant, which includes the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol with automatic transmission and dual-tone paint, now costs ₹13.06 lakh.

Updated Price List (Ex-Showroom)

  • E Petrol (Manual): ₹7.77 lakh

  • E CNG: ₹8.74 lakh

  • V Turbo AT Dual-Tone: ₹13.06 lakh

All variants have received an identical ₹2,500 hike regardless of transmission type or fuel option.

No Changes to Engine or Features

Mechanically, the Toyota Taisor remains unchanged. It continues to be offered with:

  • A 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing around 88 hp and 113 Nm

  • A 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 98 hp and up to 148 Nm

  • Transmission options include 5-speed manual, 5-speed AMT, and 6-speed torque converter automatic

The CNG variant is available only with the 1.2-litre engine and 5-speed manual gearbox.

On the features front, the Taisor is equipped with:

  • 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system

  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

  • Twin-pod digital instrument cluster

  • LED projector headlamps and DRLs

  • Push-button start, cruise control

  • 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, electronic stability program (ESP)

Taisor vs Rivals in the Segment

The Urban Cruiser Taisor is Toyota’s version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, sharing its platform and features with subtle design differences like grille styling, Toyota badging, and alloy wheels. In its price segment, it competes with other sub-4m SUVs such as the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, and the Maruti Fronx.

Even after the hike, the Taisor remains priced slightly above the Fronx, reflecting Toyota’s positioning strategy and brand premium.
