Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) 2025 took center stage in Chiang Mai, offering fresh insight into the evolving landscape of Thai tourism. With participation from hundreds of international buyers and tourism businesses, this year’s edition focused on innovation, sustainability, and cultural depth.

As Thailand aims to reposition itself as a premium, conscious travel destination, TTM+ 2025 showcased experiences that go beyond sightseeing and lean into meaningful engagement and ecological balance.

   Sustainability Takes the Lead

This year, sustainability emerged as the overarching theme. TTM+ 2025 became the first carbon-neutral edition of the event, setting an example with renewable energy usage, bamboo structures, and zero-waste management practices. Thailand’s tourism stakeholders emphasized their commitment to eco-tourism, urging global partners to adopt responsible practices in travel operations.

   Wellness and Local Living

Wellness tourism is another strong pillar in Thailand’s 2025 strategy. Chiang Mai’s traditional healing systems like Tok Sen massages, herbal steam therapies, and meditation retreats were spotlighted. The emphasis was on holistic experiences that connect mind, body, and culture — especially in regions with Lanna heritage.

Across the event, local living experiences like village homestays, heritage walks, and community-based tourism models were promoted as alternatives to mass tourism.

   Soft Power Through Culture

Thailand’s “Flavours, Fulfilment, and Fabrics” theme underlined how food, crafts, and fashion are powerful travel magnets. From street food trails to handmade textiles and cultural performances, the message was clear: travelers want authenticity, and Thailand is ready to deliver it.

Buyers were introduced to immersive tour concepts such as halal culinary paths, Thai fabric tours, and artisan village circuits — all designed to bring tourists closer to the soul of Thailand.

   Digital Transformation in Travel

Thailand is also investing heavily in travel technology. Digital immigration systems, AI-enabled customer support tools, and smart maps were among the innovations presented at TTM+ 2025. These efforts aim to reduce friction in travel and enhance visitor satisfaction.

With these digital upgrades, Thailand is not only simplifying the travel experience but also creating safer, faster, and more personalized journeys for tourists.

   Regional Tourism & Growth

The event also focused on cross-border tourism with neighboring nations. Through partnerships with countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion and South Asia, Thailand is building multi-destination packages that encourage longer stays and richer experiences.

New multi-modal travel corridors — including caravan trails and cruise links — are being developed to ease access to secondary cities and promote regional tourism.
