In a deeply disturbing development, police have uncovered that 26-year-old Sonam Raghuwanshi, an Indore-based woman, plotted and executed her husband Raja Raghuwanshi’s murder just days after their marriage, during what was supposed to be a romantic honeymoon in Meghalaya. The shocking crime has stunned the nation and raised serious questions about premeditated marital murders.
According to Meghalaya DGP Idashisha Nongrang, Sonam meticulously planned the killing and hired contract killers to murder her husband while they were vacationing in the picturesque Cherrapunji area. The husband, Raja, was found dead in suspicious circumstances, and initial reports suggested an accident or natural cause. However, a deeper investigation and local surveillance footage pointed to foul play.
“It was a well-orchestrated murder. The accused was in constant contact with the killers. We’ve arrested Sonam and are tracking others involved,” said the DGP.
The accused had reportedly been in touch with the hired killers before the trip. Police believe she had personal motives and may have been involved in another relationship, although further investigation is ongoing.
