Covert Operation by Pakistani Leadership
Indian security officials confirm that Pakistan’s ISI, backed by its military leadership, plotted the Pahalgam attack. They instructed LeT to deploy an all-Pakistani hit team, ensuring no local militants participated to mask state involvement.
Targeted Terror and Brutal Execution
The hit squad, led by ex-special forces operative Sulaiman and trained at LeT’s Muridke camp, spent days in the Tral forest before launching the assault on tourists in Baisaran meadow. They deliberately separated victims by religion, and two local men were later arrested for providing shelter.

Following the attack, Jammu & Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha admitted to a security failure and launched Operation Sindoor on May 7. India struck nine terrorist camps across Pakistan and PoK, targeting over 100 militants to deliver a stern warning .
