According to the latest notice issued on August 6, candidates can now register until 3 PM on August 6 and fill choices until 8 AM on August 7. Additionally, choice locking is open from August 6 to 11:55 PM on August 7.
Seat allotment results are expected on August 9. With over 12.36 lakh candidates competing for nearly 1.18 lakh MBBS seats across 780 medical colleges, this extension is a major relief.
Reason Behind the Suspension
Earlier this week, the MCC halted the choice-filling process without explanation, leaving thousands of aspirants anxious. While no official reason was cited, experts suggest that a re-verification of seat matrices may have been necessary. Furthermore, the approval of NRI status for 188 candidates possibly influenced the change.
