Leaked or Lied? NEET 2025 Faces Social Media Whirlwind

Ahead of the NEET UG 2025 exam held on May 4, the National Testing Agency (NTA) cautioned candidates against misinformation and rumors about paper leaks. To ensure the integrity of the examination, the NTA implemented stringent security measures, including police escorts for question papers and monitoring of coaching centers.

Are students placing too much trust in social media platforms like Telegram and Instagram for exam updates?

  •  The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a stern warning about the spread of misinformation related to NEET UG 2025, cautioning students against believing unverified rumors.

  •  Over 165 Telegram channels and 32 Instagram accounts were flagged for allegedly circulating false claims, including paper leak rumors, fueling unnecessary panic among aspirants.

  • To protect the exam’s integrity, the Ministry of Education ramped up nationwide security measures—these included:

    • Police escorts for transporting question papers and OMR sheets

    • Multi-layered frisking at exam centers

    • Tight surveillance on coaching centers to prevent organized malpractice

  •  On a positive note, the provisional answer key for NEET UG 2025 was released on June 3. Students can access it at neet.nta.nic.in and submit objections (if any) until June 5.
