Free Yoga Day Events on June 21 in 15 Cities Across TN & Puducherry

Mark your calendar for the International Day of Yoga on June 21! Free morning sessions titled “Yoga – A beginning to transform life” will be held in 15 cities across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Open to individuals aged 10+, the event promotes health, unity, and mindfulness.

On June 21, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will unite in movement and mindfulness as they celebrate International Day of Yoga with free morning yoga sessions under the theme “Yoga – A beginning to transform life.”

Organized by DT Next and Daily Thanthi, and supported by title sponsor G Square, the event will take place across 15 cities, offering the public a chance to start the day with peace, flexibility, and focus. Sessions will run from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM and are open to anyone aged 10 and above.

The sessions will be based on the Common Yoga Protocol, promoting both beginner and experienced yoga routines. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable attire and bring their own yoga mats and water bottles.

This initiative follows the Yoga Mahotsav held in Puducherry on May 27, where over 6,000 people participated. The 2025 global theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” reinforces the importance of connecting individual wellness with planetary health.

Recognized by the United Nations, the International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually on June 21 since 2015. It aims to emphasize the role of yoga in creating harmony between body and mind, and between humanity and nature.
