A fatal accident in Indore has left the city in shock as a woman was run over by a truck after falling from a two-wheeler. The mishap occurred near the MR-10 junction, a known traffic-prone area, on Wednesday morning.

The victim, identified as Anita Yadav (38), was riding with her husband on a motorcycle when the bike lost balance after hitting a pothole. According to police and eyewitnesses, she fell to the left side of the road and was instantly crushed by a truck that was following the vehicle closely.

Her husband, Rajesh Yadav, was able to maintain control of the bike and did not suffer injuries, but was left in deep trauma after witnessing the incident.

     Investigation and Legal Action:

Police from Lasudia Police Station arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. The truck driver was detained and a case under IPC sections for rash and negligent driving has been registered.

Preliminary findings suggest:

  • The truck was over-speeding

  • The road was damaged due to recent rains

  • There was no protective lane or divider to separate heavy vehicles from two-wheelers

“There were no warning signs or proper lane markings. It’s a failure of traffic and civic planning,” said a local shopkeeper.

      Road Safety Concerns Rise:

Indore has seen a rise in two-wheeler accidents, particularly on under-maintained roads and construction-heavy routes like MR-10 and Bypass Road. Locals frequently report:

  • Unmarked potholes

  • Speeding heavy vehicles during peak hours

  • Lack of street lighting and signage

Residents and commuters have urged the Indore Municipal Corporation and traffic authorities to:

  • Resurface damaged roads

  • Introduce dedicated heavy vehicle lanes

  • Install CCTV and speed-monitoring cameras

      Key Highlights (Bullet Points):

  • Woman crushed by truck after falling from bike near MR-10, Indore

  • Husband survives; couple was heading to a family event

  • Road damage and truck proximity cited as major causes

  • Truck driver detained, FIR registered under rash driving laws
