Samsung’s highly anticipated foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, is set to launch in India on July 9, 2025, as part of the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event. While fans are excited for the next-generation features and refined design, the spotlight is on its steep price increase, expected to start around ₹1.75 to ₹1.79 lakh for the base 256GB variant.

This makes it significantly more expensive than the previous Galaxy Z Fold 6, which had an introductory price close to ₹1.50 lakh. Despite the price bump, Samsung promises meaningful upgrades that aim to push the foldable experience to a new level.

   Design and Display

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to be thinner, lighter, and more refined in its folding mechanism. When unfolded, the device will have an 8.2-inch inner display with minimal crease visibility, while the outer cover screen will measure around 6.5 inches with improved brightness and durability. Samsung is expected to use an advanced hinge design that reduces bulk and enhances durability.

   Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Fold 7 is likely to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, delivering top-tier performance for multitasking, gaming, and AI-driven functions. RAM options will likely start at 12GB, with storage configurations ranging from 256GB to 1TB.

On the software front, the Fold 7 will launch with One UI 8 based on Android 16. Samsung’s new Galaxy AI features—including live translation, enhanced note-taking, and intelligent camera tools—are expected to play a central role.

   Camera Upgrades

The Fold 7 could include a 200MP primary sensor, an ultra-wide camera, a telephoto lens with up to 5x optical zoom, and an under-display selfie camera on the inner screen. This would mark a significant improvement over the Fold 6’s camera setup, putting it on par with flagship camera phones.

   Battery & Charging

The battery capacity is expected to remain around 4400mAh, with support for fast wired and wireless charging. Software-level optimizations and the new chipset may help improve battery life despite no significant hardware increase.
