He breathed his last on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Kumar had been battling pneumonia. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. A Career Spanning Decades

Dheeraj Kumar, whose full name was Dheeraj Kochar, began his journey in the entertainment world in 1965. He was a finalist in a talent show. Notably, Rajesh Khanna and Subhash Ghai were also finalists in that same competition. Kumar established himself as a versatile artist. He acted in both Hindi and Punjabi films. Some of his notable film roles include appearances in ‘Roti Kapada Aur Makaan,’ ‘Sargam,’ ‘Kranti,’ and ‘Heera Panna.’ He also starred in around 21 Punjabi films between 1970 and 1984.

The Visionary Behind Creative Eye

Beyond acting, Dheeraj Kumar made a significant mark as a producer and director. In 1986, he founded his own production house, Creative Eye Limited. He served as its Chairman and Managing Director. Under this banner, he produced numerous iconic television serials. These shows often focused on religious and mythological themes.

His production house was behind popular TV series like ‘Om Namah Shivay,’ ‘Shree Ganesh,’ ‘Adalat,’ and ‘Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann.’ These shows garnered immense popularity and became household names across India.
