Compartment Exams: When and How They Happened

CBSE held Class 12 supplementary exams on July 15, 2025, while Class 10 tests ran from July 15 to 22, 2025. These exams offered students a second chance to clear failed subjects or improve scores after their main board results in May.

Once released, the result will include subject-wise marks and grades, and announce whether students have passed in their supplementary attempts. Details about discrepancies or corrections will be available on official CBSE portals.

How to Check Your Result

These simple steps will help students access their results:

  1. Visit cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in, or cbse.gov.in.
  2. Click the link titled “Class 10/12 Supplementary Result 2025.”
  3. Enter roll number, school number, admit card ID, and date of birth.
  4. Submit the form to view your marksheet and pass status.
  5. Download and save the PDF for future reference—physical mark sheets will follow via schools.

Alternative access options may include SMS, IVRS, DigiLocker, or the UMANG app.

What Happens Next?

CBSE previously declared the main board results on May 13, 2025, placing over 2.7 lakh students under the compartment category. The upcoming supplementary results will bring clarity for these students on whether they have successfully cleared the second attempt.

Successful candidates can continue their academic progression, while others may opt for re-evaluation or wait for the next academic year opening. Re-evaluation requests require prior access to answer scripts via photocopy requests and formal verification following CBSE’s updated process.

Why This Exam Matters

This supplementary exam serves as a vital second chance for students who missed passing one or two subjects in regular boards. CBSE allowed compartment exams across all subjects for Class 10, offering greater flexibility. Class 12 candidates could opt to improve just one subject, which is key for competitive or specialized admission pathways.

The results will determine many students’ eligibility for Class 11 enrollment or college entrance criteria for the next academic year.
