In a move that will impact thousands of daily commuters, toll rates on Bengaluru’s Electronics City flyover and the Attibele stretch of National Highway 44 will be revised upward starting July 1, 2025. The hike was announced by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) as part of its annual revision policy to adjust for inflation and rising infrastructure costs.

The Electronics City Elevated Expressway, a key route for tech professionals traveling between central Bengaluru and the southern IT corridor, will see slightly higher fares for both one-way and return trips, especially for four-wheelers and commercial vehicles.

Revised Toll Rates (from July 1):

      Electronics City Elevated Expressway:

  • Cars/SUVs:

    • One-way: ₹55 → ₹60

    • Return (same day): ₹85 → ₹95

  • LCVs (Light Commercial Vehicles):

    • One-way: ₹90 → ₹100

  • Buses/Trucks:

    • One-way: ₹185 → ₹205

       Attibele Toll Plaza (NH-44):

  • Cars/SUVs: ₹45 → ₹50

  • Heavy Vehicles: Up to ₹285 (based on axle type)

Note: Monthly passes for regular commuters will also increase proportionately.

    Why the Hike?

Officials from NHAI cited increased maintenance costs, periodic resurfacing, and upcoming technological upgrades to toll infrastructure (including faster FASTag systems and ANPR cameras) as primary reasons for the rate revision.

“The toll increase is marginal and essential for sustaining the infrastructure used by lakhs every day,” said an NHAI spokesperson.
