Pakistan Secures Consolation Win in Final T20I Against Bangladesh
Farhan’s Heroics Save Pakistan From Clean Sweep
After back-to-back defeats in the opening two matches, Pakistan finally found form in the 3rd T20I against Bangladesh in Mirpur. Opener Sahibzada Farhan played a match-winning knock, anchoring the chase and guiding Pakistan to a six-wicket victory.
With the series already lost, the visitors were under pressure to salvage pride—and Farhan delivered just that. Chasing Bangladesh’s modest total of 153, Pakistan lost early wickets but stayed in control thanks to Farhan’s composed 64 off 43 balls.
Bangladesh Dominated the Series
Despite the loss in the final game, Bangladesh will take away many positives from the series. Led by consistent performances from Tanzid Hasan and Mahmudullah, they clinched the series 2-1. The home side’s bowlers, particularly Shoriful Islam and Mahedi Hasan, kept Pakistan in check in the first two matches.
However, in the third T20I, their batters struggled to build momentum. Apart from Towhid Hridoy’s fighting 44, most of the lineup collapsed under disciplined Pakistani bowling, with Salman Mirza and Abbas Afridi sharing crucial breakthroughs.
A Much-Needed Confidence Boost for Pakistan
This win was crucial for Pakistan’s morale as the team faces criticism over inconsistent performances in the shortest format. Farhan’s return to form and the emergence of Salman Mirza as a reliable pace option gave the team some much-needed optimism moving forward.
Skipper Shadab Khan appreciated the team’s effort and praised Farhan’s knock, saying, “This win shows our character. Farhan’s innings was exceptional and shows what he’s capable of under pressure.”

Looking Ahead
Both teams will now shift focus to their upcoming international assignments, with Pakistan aiming to build a stronger squad ahead of the Asia Cup 2025. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will take pride in their series win and look to continue the momentum.
This match highlighted Pakistan’s potential when the top order fires and bowlers stick to their plans. Consistency, however, remains the key challenge ahead.
