Indore’s historic Rajwada Palace has reclaimed the spotlight — this time not through its regal past alone but by becoming the stage for a state-of-the-art Sound & Light Show that has finally found its rhythm.
The show, launched earlier amid much fanfare, faced initial criticism over inconsistent audio, technical issues, and underwhelming visuals. However, after multiple tweaks, content upgrades, and better execution, it now enjoys full-house evenings, creating a magnetic pull for both tourists and Indore locals.
A Historic Revival in Lights and Sound:
The revamped show narrates the rich legacy of the Holkar dynasty, featuring vivid projections, crisp narration in both Hindi and English, synchronized lighting, and soul-stirring music. Audiences witness the evolution of Indore, the architectural beauty of Rajwada, and the rise of Ahilyabai Holkar as one of India’s most revered rulers.
“It felt like we were reliving history. The lighting was mesmerizing, and the storytelling was powerful,” said a local college student who attended the show.
What Changed?
The turning point came after the Indore Smart City administration, along with private heritage consultants, brought in new projection technology, improved speakers, and tighter scriptwriting. These improvements helped transition the show from a struggling attraction to a cultural highlight.
