Faridabad Suicide Horror: Calm Morning Turns into Tragedy

What began as a seemingly peaceful morning in Faridabad turned into a chilling tragedy when a family of four was found dead in a suspected suicide. Just hours earlier, the family shared breakfast and discussed plans for a day out—offering no clues of the looming disaster.

Faridabad, Haryana — In a deeply unsettling incident, a family of four was found dead in their residence in Faridabad in what police suspect to be a mass suicide. Just hours before the incident, the family engaged in a routine morning—preparing parathas, chatting casually, and even discussing a family outing.

The deceased have been identified as Ashish (37), his wife Anjali (34), and their two children aged 8 and 6. The tragic discovery was made by a domestic helper who arrived later in the morning and found the main door locked from the inside. After receiving no response, neighbors alerted the police.

Upon entry, officers were met with a horrifying scene. All four family members were found dead in separate rooms, with preliminary evidence suggesting poison ingestion. A suicide note, reportedly penned by Ashish, was recovered, stating financial distress and a “hopeless future” as the key reasons behind the decision.

A Morning That Gave No Signs

According to neighbors and CCTV footage from the building, the morning appeared ordinary. Ashish was seen stepping out briefly to fetch milk while Anjali prepared breakfast. Around 8:30 a.m., the family was heard laughing and chatting over breakfast. “There were no signs anything was wrong,” said a neighbor. “They were planning a trip to Surajkund this weekend.”

The chilling part, say investigators, is how normal everything seemed just before the tragedy—a clear sign of how mental health struggles can remain hidden beneath calm exteriors.

Mental Health and Financial Pressure

Faridabad Police Commissioner has confirmed that preliminary findings point to severe financial issues faced by the family in recent months. Ashish had lost his job during the pandemic and was unable to recover financially despite freelance work and attempts to start a home business.

Mental health experts emphasize that financial stress coupled with isolation can result in extreme psychological distress, urging families to seek timely help.

Community Shocked

The incident has left the community in disbelief. Residents are mourning the loss and have called for more accessible mental health support services in housing societies and schools. “They were a happy family. Who knew they were going through this?” said another resident.

Next Steps

Authorities are conducting a detailed forensic investigation, reviewing phone records, and counseling neighbors. The family’s relatives have arrived from nearby towns, and last rites are expected to be held privately.
