Senior journalist Kommineni Srinivasa Rao arrested after controversial Sakshi TV debate

Senior journalist Kommineni Srinivasa Rao was arrested by Andhra Pradesh police following a complaint about his remarks during a debate on Sakshi TV. The allegations state that Rao made derogatory comments about women from the Amaravati region, which led to a police case in the Guntur district.

Despite questioning the legality of his arrest due to his senior citizen status, Rao was taken into custody and transferred from Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh for further legal action.

With a career spanning over four decades, Rao has worked with leading Telugu media outlets such as Eenadu, Andhra Jyothi, NTV, and TV5. He also served as Chairman of the Press Academy of Andhra Pradesh until early 2024 and recently hosted the popular ‘KSR Live Show’ on Sakshi TV.
